š ļø Fixing Invalid Certificate Warnings in Email Clients (Avast Antivirus)
When using Avast Free or Premium Security, email clientĀ The Bat!Ā may show invalid certificate warnings after Avast is installed.
This happens because Avast Mail Shield scans SSL/TLS connections by inserting its own certificate, which email clients may not trust by default.
ā Solution Overview:
You need to export Avastās Mail Shield certificate and import it into your email client.
š Exporting the Avast Mail Shield Certificate:

Open Avast Antivirus and go to Menu ā° ā Settings.

Use the search bar to type: geek:area ā open Avast Geek settings.

Scroll to Mail Shield.

Make sure āScan SSL connectionsā is enabled.

Click Perform next to āMail Shield: Export Certificateā.

Save the certificate (e.g., to your Desktop).
-
Click OK when prompted.
š„ Importing the Certificate into Your Email Client THE BAT!

Go to Tools ā Address Book.

Click the vertical ā® next to Trusted Root CA ā choose New Contact.

Enter Avast Mail Shield as the name.

Click the green checkmark in the New Certificate panel.

Make sure Avast Mail Shield is selected ā click Manage Certificates.

Click Import⦠and select the previously saved certificate file.

Once it appears in the certificate list, click OK to apply.
